Yeah, I know, I know. It’s posted in jest, but certainly is worthy of being a fecal agitator post. It makes sense, black people have no need to tan, so the only people who are going to be paying this tax are of the fairer skin.

I grabbed this off of Reddit today, which is hosted on imgur.com.

Obama Taxes Tanning

The post appears to come from a Facebook update, but those things are faked all the time. Either way, it’s trollable, funny, and most people will take it seriously. Although I’m not a fan of Obama, I seriously doubt this ever entered into his mind or anyone involved with the new Tax legislation.

I hope.

Obama has announced today that he will be pushing forward the latest bill in an attempt to fix the ‘broken’ immigration laws we have standing now. But I have to ask, who is the system broken for? Is it the legally born citizens, the ones that came in legally in the past 20 years applied for and attained citizenship, or the ones trying to circumvent every law we have, sneaking in?

I would think this has less to do with immigration laws and more with wanting to push amnesty to all illegals currently in the states. After all, isn’t this a push for more votes, a push to get more people on the government payroll? I would suspect it is, and if history thus far with the Obama Administration has proved one thing, it’s that you have to make changes slowly at first, before shoving something down our throat.

Read more about what the New York Times has to say about Obama pushing immigration package.

According to Obama, the immigration laws are broken and “Everyone knows it.” Excuse me, that’s assuming an awful lot. Perhaps he should be speaking to the other side of the isle, he so vehemently suggested during his campaign. Or how about talking to a panel of immigrants that have gained citizenship legally and just how broken it really is.

The liberals are starting to feel the burn of an unpopular president and are attacking their neighbors over protests at Tea Parties. It was to be ignored and accepted when they were disrespectful to our president of 8 years, but now that the tables have turned, those opposing Obama are viewed as incompetent, and unpatriotic. Furthermore, political protests against Obama and his agenda are being viewed as hateful, when it’s only knowledge most on the conservative side are trying to bring to light.

Following social media outlets like Twitter yesterday was the surest way to see the hypocrasy within the liberal ranks. For years the conservative right was subjected to disrespectful comment, protest, or hateful remark thrown at former President Bush. But now, look at what cowards the liberals have become, trying everything to keep Obama on top of the water he walked on during his campaign. Now, it doesn’t seem enough to disagree with what’s being said, now it’s hate and slander being thrown at those that disagree.

I saw a bumper sticker the other day that summed it all up.

I’ll give your president just as much respect as you gave mine.

It’s fitting, since most of the liberals I am around never gave a thought to the respect that a resideing US President demanded. It was ok to make fun of the way Bush talked and damn his policies, let’s poke fun of his latest failed joke on public television.

I’m tiring of giving Obama any kind of buffer in his term as president. He’s already failed countless campaign promises and while I didn’t think he could fix the country immediately, I wasn’t prepared for the way he was squandering my childs inhertiance. Spread my work ethic before spreading my wealth. It’s another bumper sticker that sum’s up what may be the longest 4 years ever.

The inaguration is over and I’m left with a nasty taste in my mouth. After all, when preaching unity, why should a black preacher be allowed to make racist comments in a prayer? Why were White people the only ones criticized, insinuating htat we don’t always do what’s right. At least as a majority we are good people and afterall isn’t it the ‘Whites’ who got Obama elected anyway?

I can’t help but notice who’s actually bringing race up on a regular basis. Why must we throw the color flag up everytime a blackman gets on a podium? It’s sickening that at this level Obama supports and does not criticize such comments and in another breath talk about unity. Perhaps this is an indication of things to come in the next 4 years.

Let the next 4 years be where the black, will not attack. The red, will not drink till bed. The yellow, keep playing the cello. And the white, continue to do what’s right, like the majority of the people, the majority of the time.

Being a conservative means different things to different people and on the topic of ‘free market’ it becomes a source for argument. Specifically I’m talking about recent bailouts with with TARP and the upcoming decision with the US Automakers. Believing in free market is easy, until consideration has to be made for lost jobs, time to recover, etc and then it gets easy to start thinking with your heart. As a conservative putting feelings aside and focusing on the long term good is what separates us from liberals.

Discussions with family members lately have been frustrating as our views mesh and then separate when discussing free market. Particularly when this discussion turns to the unions impact on the domestic auto manufacturers the older members of the family dig their heals in. Personally I feel unions have a time and a place, but it’s not now, and it’s not in the immediate US future. Their strangle hold on the automotive industry is proof positive of a group that got too powerful and greedy. The cost per hour, per employee, to produce a car is hemoraging automakers funds.

Truth will be told come February when the bailout money has been used up and we are in the same situation. The problems are not being addressed, money is being thrown at the byproduct of a failed business model, and the American taxpayer is left holding the check. I would expect more of the same once Obama finally takes office tomorrow, so how many more years before the US economy starts making a comeback?

Despite what many of the articles on this site may lead you to believe, I do have a heart. Furthermore I do feel for the countless men and women who will be going into 2009 without a job or risk losing their jobs because of the current economy. I also understand what bankruptcy would mean for the big 3 automakers, maybe not total anihilation of jobs but enough to magnify the current unemployment rate in the US. But this is not a reason to start bailing out the big 3 and ignoring the real problem.

No amount of bailout money will help the domestic auto manufacturers, specifically I’m looking at GM, but all suffer the same problems. Only going back as far as 2007 sales figures we already start seeing a problem not fixed by money alone. There are serious underlying issues within management, union affiliation, and a handful of other issues that cause the domestic car makers to hemmorage money. Two months of operating money from the tax payers will not fix these issues.

Based on an article written in November 2007 by the Detroit News, Toyota posted a profit of more than $14.9 billion profit. Their sales figures for 2007 were projected at this time to be around 8.93 million vehicles sold world wide.

The automaker raised its annual vehicle sales forecast to 8.93 million worldwide, from 8.89 million projected in May.

Another similar article reported on GM’s standing during 2007, which was written in February of 2008 by the International Herald Tribune. The GM article was written with a radically different view of the automakers sales figures, stating that GM lost $38.7 billion in 2007. The same article goes on to identify the number of vehicle sales for GM world wide, which was 9.4 million.

Sales grew 3 percent in 2007, to almost 9.4 million, barely enough to retain its title as the world’s largest automaker over its surging Japanese rival Toyota.

So here we have two articles discussing domestic versus foreign auto manufacturers sales figures. Both companies sell nearly the identical number of vehicles, even GM selling slightly more, yet HUGE differences in their profit margins. GM wasn’t even hoping to make it into the black come 4th quarter of 07 and 08 hasn’t been any friendlier to the books.

Why The Big 3 Should Not Receive Bailout Money

To summarize, two competing companies, dealing with comparable products, selling comparable amounts of units, post a difference in earnings for the year of $53.6 billion. Toyota being the company who remained in the black, profiting $14.9 billion, and finally taking over the leader in car sales worldwide in 08. However, as tax payers we are expected to believe that $50 billion will solve their woes, that even being spread out over the big 3 and not JUST GM.

Also, lets not forget that in September we issued a $25 billion loan to the Big 3, three months later I don’t think you can put a fire out by throwing more wood on top.

Liberals love their Gallup polls, exit polls, any poll, but of course they only report on something that appeals to their own agenda. Specifically there has been endless talk throughout the past 2 years on how low Bush’s approval rating is, but no talk ever about Congress’s. Well guess what, our democratically controlled congress gets an approval rating just like George Bush and according to the last figures theirs is LOWER.

On October 20, 2008 Bush’s approval rating continued to hover in the high 20′s, actually at 29%. Our congress started off 2008 with an approval rating of 23% and as of the last Gallup Poll dropped below 20% for the first time since 1992.

Hope and change coming from the democrat party? If Obama’s appointments are any indication of where this country is heading then we know we are going to be in for a long and disappointing 4 years. The majority of his appointees have been old Clinton administration that dates back to one of the lowest congressional ratings in the Gallups 34 years taking polls on such matters.

So why do we not hear popular media discussing low congress ratings and only bashing Bush on his low popularity numbers?

Kind of a flambouyant title I agree, but it’s getting to the point where writing articles in the gray area just isn’t getting any attention. What’s worse those that do happen upon the right of center are so blinded by the majority of idiots that they are swayed by nonsense. Todays latest foray into reddit idiots is their call to action, an end to the Transportation Security Administration. I’ll listen to a well adjusted and researched complaint about government bloat, but their reasoning is beyond typical reddit idiology.

Reddit users are upvoting an article criticizing the Transportation Security Administration for not finding a single terrorist, due to the security measures in place. They then proceed to bitch, moan, and complain about having to submit to searches, not carry liquids, and no nail clippers for them. I believe they have prevented great catastrophes and acts of terrorism over American skies, but not just from terrorists looking to blow planes up or fly them into buildings.

I believe the TSA has prevented countless terrorist acts indirectly by discouraging any transport via airline by terrorists. They (terrorists) are aware that they are under scrutiny and by using public airlines, therefore are less likely to travel by that method. Furthermore any security method that discourages those wishing ill will I support, especially when they are as inevasive as what the TSA has in place.

Perhaps you are thinking that maybe I just don’t fly, so I wouldn’t understand. Well, you are incorrect, I do fly and I have been searched and had to throw away some of my questionable belongings. However since the first few times I flew after 9/11 I learned what the rules were and prepared accordingly. They don’t ask the impossible and retailers were quick to help fill the small size void of hair gel, toothpaste, and other aneminities. Anyone at this point that complains to the contrary is just bitching.

It links right back to the entitlement mentality that things should never change and no difficulties should befound an American. I pray that no terrorist attack ever befalls one of these individuals and thank those at the TSA for everything they do to provide a safe traveling experience, especially during the upcoming holidays.

My Sheeple Waking Days Are Over

Something I’ve been saying about Reddit long before the Mr Splasy Pants days. It’s still nice that this made front page, no matter how brief. Unfortunately I don’t think it’s going to do one bit of good for the liberal, athiest social bookmarking site, too many of the users are wrapped up in their own fantasy world where everything they say is right and everyone else is stupid.
